Introduction to Kinesiology Taping: Orthopedic Conditions
Kinesiology taping is redefining the role of therapeutic taping for rehabilitation professionals. Taping was once used to physically hold structures in place; now kinesiology taping is used to influence fascia and underlying neural tissues to cause functional changes in both the local tissue as well as the central nervous system. Often relegated to the athletic world, kinesiology taping has many orthopedic, neurological and specialty applications. Course content will include kinesiology taping for joint...
NeuroFascial Patterning: Assessing Movement
Most conditions that lead to musculoskeletal pain tend to be overuse syndromes. These overuse syndromes can be frustrating to both the patient and clinician. Many of these overuse syndromes develop because of poor and compensatory movement patterns.
This course instructs 5 movement screens assessing the neuromyofascial network to identify compensatory patterns and areas of altered joint mechanics. Once the area of dysfunction has been identified, joint specific evaluation techniques are introduced...
Evidenced-Inspired Approaches to the Shoulder Complex
The shoulder complex is one of the leading areas of musculoskeletal pain. Through poor posturing and overuse of the upper extremity, a variety of painful conditions can develop leading to local pain in the shoulder but contributing to cervical and lumbar spine pain as well. Patients often are treated for months with passive modalities and exercise with minimal change in symptoms.
This course introduces manual evaluation techniques of the connective tissue...
Kinesiology Taping for the Manual Therapist
Course Description:
Clients rarely seek immediate treatment feeling that the pain will "just go away on its own." Regardless of the situation, patients want to return to their normal activities as quickly and pain-free as possible. As a clinician, sometimes it becomes necessary to explore new methods — or even a combination of methods — to best assist the client with movement. Kinesiology taping has been used for well over a...
Evidenced-Inspired Approaches to Pelvic Pain
Course Description:
Pelvic pain can be a chronic, debilitating condition that is affecting an ever increasing number of individuals. Individuals often have numerous imaging studies that are considered normal and do not contribute to their treatment. Current medical treatment involves prescription pain relievers, injections and surgeries that often offer little if any improvement in symptoms.
This course is designed to educate the practicing clinician on...
Evidence-Informed Practice: Cervical Spine Disorders
Course Description:
Cervical pain is a highly prevalent condition that drives patients to seek treatment. With reliance on modern technology, conditions of the spine are typically evaluated with imaging with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) being the preferred modality. MRIs often lead to one of two diagnostic classifications: discogenic pain or non-specific pain. Unfortunately, this omits a host of other structures that can be pain generators: ligaments, muscles, fascia, joint capsules, and...
Evidence-Inspired Practice: Lumbar Spine Pathology
Course Description:
Low back pain is a highly prevalent condition that drives patients to seek treatment. With reliance on modern technology, conditions of the spine are typically evaluated with imaging with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) being the preferred modality. MRIs often lead to one of two diagnostic classifications: discogenic pain or non-specific low back pain. Unfortunately, this omits a host of other structures...
