This course is intended to instruct the professional on identifying major injuries of the elbow and how to conservatively treat and manage.

Professional Objectives:

  1. Identify the gross anatomy of the elbow
  2. Identify basics of MRI of the elbow
  3. Recognize pertinent history and imaging
  4. Recognize anatomy of the elbow
  5. List tendon injuries of the elbow
  6. Recognize diagnoses of tendon injuries of the elbow
  7. Identify various treatment of tendon injuries of the elbow
  8. Recognize elbow instability patterns
  9. Identify treatment of elbow instability patterns
  10. Recognize Surgical Anatomy of Elbow, specifically thrower’s elbow
  11. Recognize pertinent history, examination, causes, and imaging
  12. List treatment options
  13. Identify the principles behind rehab and treatment of UCL injuries based on appropriate healing times of soft tissue and meeting rehab benchmarks.
  14. Identify risk factors for future injury based on athlete movement patterns if patterns exist.
  15. List progressive overload principles, periodization with exercise and corrective exercise techniques to correct faulty movement patterns
