Urinary incontinence is a significant health problem with considerable social and economic impact. Healthcare providers need to understand what can be done to improve continence and impact quality of life for the affected population. This course is intended to instruct the professional on continence in older adults across the continuum of care and roles of the interdisciplinary team.

Professional Objectives:

  1. Identify prevalence and incidence of urinary incontinence.
  2. Identify impact of urinary incontinence.
  3. Identify components of nursing assessment incontinence care.
  4. Identify therapy treatment options to reduce urinary incontinence.

Criteria for Completion:

A score of 70% or more is considered passing.  Scores of less than 70% indicate a failure to understand the material and the test will need to be taken again until a passing score has been achieved.
