In this course, clinicians will learn new techniques that can help support, motivate, and encourage these students without enabling them. This course is intended to instruct the professional how to offer support to parents and partner with them to cultivate a healthy learning mindset which will ultimately lead children to develop academic skills that are self-directed. 

Professional Objectives:

  1. Select 4 skills needed to ensure academic success perseverance, inhibition/emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility and working memory skills
  2. Identify the differences between a growth mindset and fixed mindset
  3. Identify 5 activities to teach children to understand neural development
  4. Identify appropriate ways to praise children and teach children that mistakes are opportunities to learn
  5. Recognize Executive Skills of Cognitive flexibility, working memory and Emotional regulation.
  6. Identify techniques to improve client’s working memory
  7. Identify strategies to improve client’s Cognitive Flexibility
  8. Identify strategies to develop emotional regulation skills in clients.
