- Defintion of substance abuse
- Recover and recurrence of brain injury
- Focal brain injuries, multifocal and diffuse brain injuries, and prevention of secondary brain injuries
Hour 2
- Glasgow coma scale
- Defining vegetative state
- Review in detail the Ranchos Los Amigos Scale
- Most commonly diagnosed physical signs and symptoms of a patient who has a TBI in a clinical setting, including:
- Decorticate, decerebrate and motor rigidity
Hour 3
- Abnormal muscle tone and spasticity
- Muscle weakness
- Decreased functional endurance
- Ataxia
- Postural deficits
- Limitations of joint motion and sensation
- Evaluation should include assessment of
