This course provides attendees with a comprehensive overview and hands-on practice in skilled documentation. It will take a deep dive into how to take common unskilled terminology and correctly correct into meaningful, skilled documentation. This course provides attendees with a comprehensive overview and hands-on practice in skilled documentation. It will take a deep dive into how to take common unskilled terminology and correctly correct into meaningful, skilled documentation. Diagnosis coding, treatment types, and note-writing will be the clinical focus of this session. 

Learning Outcomes:

Upon the completion of this course, the learner will be able to: 

  • Differentiate requirements for skilled therapy intervention that is reimbursable according to Medicare's regulations. 
  • Distinguish between CPT and ICD-10 codes and when to use each. 
  • Apply rules of skilled documentation to examples and determine if skill exists.

Criteria for Completion: A score of 75% or more is considered passing. Scores of less than 75% indicate a failure to understand the material and the test will need to be taken again until a passing score has been achieved.
