Course Goals:

This course is designed to give the students a comprehensive look at the body changes that occur during pregnancy and the best bodywork techniques to support the client during this time.

Learning Outcomes:

Upon the completion of this course, the learner will be able to: 

  • Describe the changes the body goes through to support the growing baby. ​
  • List the various massage techniques that will help to safely alleviate stress and tension on weight bearing joints. ​
  • Students will list the common conditions that occur in pregnancy that require caution or a doctor’s referral.​
  • Students will identify the appropriate positions to use in all stages of pregnancy to make the mother comfortable.  ​

Instructional Level: Intermediate

Criteria for Completion: A score of 75% or more is considered passing. Scores of less than 75% indicate a failure to understand the material and the test will need to be taken again until a passing score has been achieved.
