  1. Describe the etiology and risk factors of arterial and venous insufficiency ulcers. 
  2. Differentiate between arterial, venous, and mixed vascular insufficiency ulcers.
  3. Describe how to perform and calculate an ankle-brachial index.
  4. Identify and document vascular insufficiency wound and periwound characteristics. 
  5. State precautions clinicians should be aware of when working with patients with vascular insufficiency ulcers. 
  6. Describe keys to local wound management of vascular insufficiency ulcers. 
  7. State possible medical and surgical interventions for patients with vascular insufficiency ulcers.
