Description:

Skin is the largest organ of the body. Check. Sometimes the skin will be damaged and scar tissue is created. Double check. And sometimes the scar tissue doesn't heal properly which can cause chronic inflammation, fibroplasia and scar formation just won't quit!  Triple check!!

Wound healing is a complex, regulated process in which regulated collagen deposition, in response to tissue injury, results in scar formation. Many chronic wounds are the result of chronic inflammation. The lymphatic system is charged with processing inflammation. Why can't or won't the system do its job?

And how do we, as manual therapists, tackle the edema and scar tissue? The Scars and Inflammation course will take a look at the wound healing process and the most recent research that stretches across several disciplines to give us the critical thinking wisdom to create a sound, client centered plan of treatment.

FL MT's: This course is approved for 2 hours in the relevant to and focus on massage therapy techniques (includes demonstration by the instructor) subject area.
