  • Recognize the current statistics on abusive head trauma (AHT) in infants and children. 
  • Recall signs, symptoms, and long-term complications of abusive head trauma in infants and children.
  • Identify the treatment for abusive head trauma in infants and children. 
  • Recall signs and symptoms that are not indicative of AHT. 
  • Identify ways of communicating with the health care team findings suggestive of AHT and those findings which are not suggestive AHT. 
  • Recognize strategies for educating families on both the prevention and recognition of AHT.
