Through this course, students will learn to identify and evaluate various red flag findings and clinical manifestations associated with different body systems. This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of medical screening strategies and techniques based on a systems approach. Through this course, students will learn to identify and evaluate various red flag findings and clinical manifestations associated with different body systems. The course will focus on developing students' skills in recognizing potential health issues, which will aid in early detection and intervention.

This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of medical screening strategies and techniques based on a systems approach. Through this course, students will learn to identify and evaluate various red flag findings and clinical manifestations associated with different body systems. The course will focus on developing students' skills in recognizing potential health issues, which will aid in early detection and intervention.

Professional Objectives:

  1. Identify the definition of direct access.
  2. Recognize why physical therapists are suited to serve as a primary care provider.
  3. Identify the difference between specificity and sensitivity as it applies to a clinical screening test.
  4. Recognize the minimally accepted metrics for specificity as it applies to a clinical screening test.
  5. Select the three possible outcomes during the triaging process.
  6. Select three sources of pain.
  7. Identify three flags from Greenhalgh’s hierarchy of red flags.
  8. Identify two red flags/symptoms that implicate the gastrointestinal system.
  9. Recognize two signs/symptoms that serve as red flags for domestic abuse.
  10. Identify the funneling technique during the interview process.
