This course will provide practitioners with information regarding how they can address the complex factors that affect their patients, including assessment of the signs and symptoms of bipolar disorder, appropriate treatment, and relapse prevention. By using a holistic, multimodal approach, clinicians can help the patient stabilize their mood and return to a normal level of functioning. Often, clinicians will collaborate with other health professionals to provide a continuum of care that helps the patient gain stability. Of equal importance, clinicians will also work with a patient’s loved ones to help educate them about bipolar disorder and promote the patient’s recovery.

Test questions link content to learning objectives as a method to enhance individualized learning and material retention. Scores of less than 70% indicate a failure to understand the material and the test will need to be taken again until a passing score has been achieved.
