Hour 1

Educate the student on red flags, and appropriate subjective evaluation.
Description of specific subjective questions for Cervical region. Student will understand the important region questions to ask.

Hour 2

Understanding statistics to enable the student to read pertinent studies and decide if they are gold standard. Understand CPR to enable the student to use them to assist in diagnosis.
Description of diseases and musculoskeletal issues of the thoracic spine followed by video of evaluation of the thoracic spine and thorax.

Hour 3

Review of diseases that refer to the lumbar spine, pelvis and hips. Demonstrate CPR and evaluation of the lumbar spine and SI joint to rule out possible serious pathology.

Hour 4

Clinical prediction rules of the spine to enable the student to have guidance in diagnosis of the spine.

Hour 5

Description and demonstration in video of dural testing procedures to educate the patient in discerning neural from joint issues.
Description and demonstration of vascular insufficiency of the Cervical spine

This course is intended to instruct the professional of what to look for with red flags, how certain diseases present similar to LBP and neck pain. They will understand what to ask and what to look for in their evaluations in order to attempt to rule out serious pathology.

Recognize red and yellow flags for the cervical and shoulder girdle and objective examination to confirm.
Locate the six most important statistical measurements used to determine a Gold standard evidence-based study as well as understanding what Clinical Prediction Rules are, their pros and cons.
Identify musculoskeletal issues of the thoracic region.
Identify four medical conditions that may refer to the spine but are non-musculoskeletal in origin and require a physician's intervention.
Locate four CPR of the spine that have good reliability and are effective in use.
Identify three dural tests that will assist in determining normal neuromeningeal pathway mobility.
Identify different causes of dizziness and be able to differentiate between vascular insufficiency symptoms and BPPV.
