The goal of this course is to provide students with the knowledge to identify ergonomic risks and make sound ergonomic recommendations to help clients prevent discomfort and injury at a computer. While we review what an ergonomist may recommend in a particular situation, our goal is to give students ergonomic analytical tools and apply this knowledge to any case at hand.

  • Identify common ergonomic obstacles facing clients working at their computer. 
  • Recognize the purpose, benefits and/or concerns for recommending specific ergonomic products to improve occupational performance. 
  • Choose customized computer-based ergonomic recommendations, whether they be product, environmental, body mechanic, or stretching suggestions to improve occupational performance.
