It's that time of year again for Louisiana Speech-Language Pathologists, time to get your continuing education credits and renew your license! Luckily, you've still got time and HomeCEU has the courses! We can help you meet your requirements quickly, conveniently and inexpensively.
How Many Hours and What Kinds of Courses Do You Need?
The Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology is very clear on your renewal and continuing education requirements:
"All licenses shall be renewed annually by June 30, to avoid delinquent renewal fees. Initial licenses issued during the last quarter of the fiscal year (April, May, and June), will not be required to renew during that fiscal year."
"Licensees shall participate in continuing professional education activities of at least ten clock hours (5 shall be in the area of licensure and 5 may be in areas related to the profession) for each license period, July 1 through June 30"
So if you're a Louisiana Speech-Language Pathologists you need to complete 10 hours of CEUs, with 5 of them directly related to your profession, by June 30th, 2012. For example, our Seminar on Demand Dysphagia 101: Disorders, Medications, and Impact on the Swallow would count as in the area of licensure, whereas Making the Transition to Private Practice would be considered "related to the profession".
