Celebrating National OT Month with a Special Webinar!

What Occupational Therapists Do For Us

Occupational therapists and assistants are part of a vitally important profession that helps people participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. Your holistic and customized approach to evaluations, interventions, and outcomes can help a child with disabilities participate in school and in social situations, assist someone recovering from injuries to regain skills, or aid an older adult to stay as independent as possible, and so much more.

How Awesome are OTs and OTAs?

Pretty darned awesome!

Even though April is the official OT recognition month, your hard work and dedication to helping others should be celebrated all year long. Your contributions to society have a huge impact. Therapists like Karen Finnerty, Nicole Sheiman and Kari Tanta all help spread the word about the amazing things OTs and OTAs do to help individuals live fuller lives.

How to Celebrate OT Month

Swag!!! Oh yes, there is swag. AOTA has a full catalog of goodies you can buy to toot your horns. They've got clothing, bags, toys, mugs, buckets of stuff! Also visit AOTA on Facebook where they are using a timeline to talk about occupational therapy throughout history, and on Twitter where they will be sharing all things #OTMonth all month long! For even more, search on Twitter using the hashtag #OTMonth!

HomeCEUConnection will be celebrating this month and honoring this amazing profession by hosting a very special live Webinar on Saturday, April 28th at 9am CST. The webinar is titled “ Electronic Aids for Daily Living (EADL): Using Basic EADLs with the Young Child and in the Classroom” and will be presented by Michelle Lange OTR, ABDA, ATP/SMS. Michelle will explore EADL product options, modes of control and application ideas to help young children develop critical cognitive skills. Continuing education can be a bit of a chore, we know. Webinars and video courses are great ways to get your requirements in a much more engaging and interesting format (that's us tooting our own horn!).
