Ruth Werner, BCTMB
Ruth Werner, BCTMB is a retired massage therapist and an active writer and educator for massage therapists. Her first book, A Massage Therapist’s Guide to Pathology, was published
in 1998. Now in its 6th edition, it is used all over the world. Ruth is a columnist for Massage & Bodywork magazine and volunteers on several national and international committees for the profession. She was recognized as the Jerome Perlinski Teacher of the Year in 2005—an honor she shares with Don Scheumann, who was recognized in 2001. She served two terms as the president of the Massage Therapy Foundation and retains a seat on the Board of Trustees. Ruth is fulfilling a lifelong dream of living on the Oregon Coast, where she is daily inspired by her surroundings.
