Ruth G. McCaffrey, DNP, ARNP, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, FAANP, FAA, has been a geriatric nurse practitioner since 1996. She has worked in primary and geriatric practices since that time. Dr. McCaffrey is a professor emeritus at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, and retired from Mercer University in Atlanta. She directed the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at each of these institutions. In the area of research, Dr. McCaffrey has been involved in geriatric research involving exercise and mental health.
