Alexander Coleman, MD

Alex Coleman, MD is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with a Subspecialty Certificate in Surgery of the Hand.  He specializes in hand, wrist, and elbow reconstruction; microvascular surgery; and limb salvage.  His practice addresses the full spectrum of hand and wrist conditions, utilizing a broad range of non-surgical treatments and, when necessary, surgical techniques informed by the latest advancements in his field. 

Dr. Coleman is original from Charleston, South Carolina.  He earned a degree in English Literature from Sewanee:  The University of the South.  He continued his education at The Medical University of South Carolina, where he earned a Doctor of Medicine and graduate at the top of his class.  Following graduation, he completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the world-renowned Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee.  After residency, he completed a Fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham under the tutelage of Dr. Thomas Hunt.
