How to complete your mandatory hours 

The 4 mandatory hours have specific components you need to fulfill. Your state board requires a 1.5-credit Jurisprudence Assessment Module. You must take this module from a sponsor listed on the board's official website. This ensures your knowledge of New Jersey's laws and regulations is up to date. 

For the remaining 2.5 credits, you can complete an ethics course. You have the flexibility to take this portion through a live or distance-learning class, which allows you to choose a format that best fits your schedule while fulfilling your mandatory ethics requirements. 

Understanding your elective hours 

After completing your mandatory hours, you have 26 elective hours left. These hours give you the freedom to explore topics that interest you and support your professional growth. You can choose courses that enhance your clinical skills, introduce new techniques, or deepen your knowledge in a specialty area. 

However, there is a limit on how many hours you can earn online. The New Jersey board allows a maximum of 10 hours to be completed through home study or online courses. Planning your CE activities ahead of time will help you balance your online learning with in-person opportunities to meet the state's requirements.
