HomeCEUConnection is here to help you navigate a course and retain your "Active in Good Standing" status with the NBCOT for three more years.

NBCOT Certification Renewal Period

The National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification is granted for a 3-year period if all requirements are met by the scheduled renewal date. The 2014 on-time renewal period ends on March 31, 2014 at 11:59pm EST. The NBCOT highly recommends that therapists aim for a March 16th submission deadline instead as applications received less than 15 days prior to the renewal deadline may not be processed by the March 31 due date.

Professional Development Unit Requirements

The NBCOT certification requires at least 36 Professional Development Units (PDUs) accrued during the 3 year renewal cycle for both Registered Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants. Now here's some good news: HomeCEUconnection is an AOTA approved provider and CEUs earned through an AOTA approved providers convert from .1 CEU to 1.25 PDU. What does that mean for you? It means that you only need 29 contact hours with us and it will count as all 36 of your PDUs for your NBCOT renewal! You can confirm your PDU amounts using the NBCOT's PDU Conversion Calculator, or by reading their chart.
