Heather Goodwin, MS, OT/L, has been working with patients suffering from dementia for over a decade. The CEO and founder of Vital Spark LLC, she provides therapy consulting services and clinical education on dementia care. Heather believes that there are many inherent dangers when using physical or chemical restraints on dementia patients: "A lot of restraints can be physically distressing for clients. I feel that some restraints actually cause falls and injuries."
